The PG-2 gives your Roland JX-3P or MKS-30 hands-on control, and a whole new way to explore the synth. Edit a patch, generate something fresh, or slowly transform one sound into another. No screen, no menus. Just play and turn the controls.
Find your next sound quickly
The built-in patch generator creates basses, bells, strings, pads, and synth sounds using musical recipes—not just random settings.
Keep generating until something grabs you. Make another variation of an algorithm you like, or ask it to bend the rules for something more unexpected. Then shape the result by hand. The PG-2 patch generator is like having an infinite bank of new sounds.
Discover the sounds between sounds
Save two sounds as snapshots, then let the PG-2 morph back and forth between them with an LFO. Turn a soft pad into a bright, animated texture over time, or blend two completely different patches and hear what happens along the way.
Adjust the speed of the morph from the panel, or control the blend yourself over MIDI. Want to improve one of the sounds? Recall it, make your edits, and resume morphing.
Bring your vintage synth into your modern MIDI setup
Automate parameters from your DAW, sequencer, or MIDI controller. No mods to the synth needed.
The JX-3P and MKS-30 offer a 0–255 range for their continuous sound parameters—256 possible values, compared with the 128 values available through standard MIDI CC.
The PG-2’s panel gives you access to that full resolution. Over MIDI, you can use familiar CC control, which scales 0–127 across the synth’s range, or NRPN control to reach every available value. That means finer adjustments for tuning, filter settings, and subtle sound changes.
Make changes your way
Start fresh with INIT, or press MANUAL to make the sound match the panel. Use FREEZE to prepare several changes without hearing them, then release those changes when you’re ready.
Small controller. Solid construction.
The PG-2 features a heavy, powder-coated metal enclosure, quality faders and knobs, tactile illuminated buttons, and durable screenprinted graphics. It’s powered directly by the synth, so there’s no extra power supply.
Designed for stock Roland JX-3P and MKS-30 synthesizers. KIWI modifications are not supported. Notes go directly to your synth; the PG-2’s MIDI input handles parameter control.
More than a replacement for the PG-200—a new source of inspiration for the synth you already love.
